A PACIFIC COAST AMATEUR PRESS ASSOCIATION was organized in San Francisco in May, 1874. L. H. Lichenstein was its first President, and Miss Amanda Taylor its Secretary. At the second meeting, November 27, Miss Taylor was chosen President and Lichenstein Editor. The Association published one issue of its official organ, the Argus. No further meetings were held, although repeated attempts were made to get together.
